This was an interesting project that needed a complete re-design and development overhaul for a prominent health and fitness celebrity in Canada.
The project needed not only a full-fledged e-commerce portal for the company’s health products but also needed an end to end club membership system. The development happened in parallel to devising an eye pleasing and minimalistic responsive web design.
The tasks consisted of
- Website re-design
- WordPress website development
- Woocommerce based e-commerce store
- Buddypress based forum feature
- Club membership system
- Adding events, testimonials, and custom menus
THE CHALLENGE
- The key challenge was to win back trust of a disillusioned client who had pulled back work from previous developer because of unsatisfactory performance.
- Another issue was factoring in Canada tax system (CST, GST) when computing final cost of the product, based on the province of customer. This was programmed at the backend to function appropriately.
- An interesting concern was use of dynamic shipping costs based on quality shipped and destination geography. We replicated Canada Post’s shipping rates to ensure greater accuracy and relevance.
